About Us
Wendy James: Owner / President of Wendy’s Neverland My name is Wendy James; I was born and raised in London, England. UK. My husband David was also born and raised in England. UK. I have been working with children for 22 years now, with all ages. I began working as a nanny in London England, where I lived with families and cared for their children. In 1986 to 1987 I took a post as a nanny in Calgary, Canada. Living with a great family and caring for two small children. I still have contact with this family today. In 1996 I went to college to obtain my childcare qualifications. I also studied and qualified in Child Psychology and Special Needs. I married David in 1997, and moved to Lancashire, Northern England. Where I took on a position as an Education Program Assistant, working with children with challenging behaviour in a special needs school. I then went into Elementary schools working with individual children with behavioural needs. In 2000 we had our son, Samuel. I stayed at home for two years. In 2002 I then accepted a position as Special Needs Educator in a school for children with all disabilities, including, blind, deaf, and cerebral- palsy. This work I found very rewarding. In 2005 we decided we needed a big change of direction for our family, so we decided to leave England and immigrate to Canada. Our adventure led us to Nova Scotia, and we fell in love with Fall River and the Waverley area. We then chose to settle in Fall River, which is now our home. On arrival from the UK, I had all my qualifications notarized by community services in NS, so I could work with children. In August 2005 I started as a pre-school teacher in Lower Sackville Nursery school. My son Samuel also attended this pre-school. In 2006 I then went onto a position in Fall River as a pre-school and After-School teacher. In 2007 I had the opportunity to full-fill a lifelong ambition of mine, which was to open my own business in childcare. Wendy’s Neverland Pre-School & After-School Programs was about to become a reality for me. In October 2007 Wendy’s Neverland Pre-School & After-School Programs Inc was officially opened. In 2010 my family and I were very proud to become Canadian Citizens. Wendy’s Neverland Staff believes it is so important to offer children a safe, fun and healthy environment, so to develop their own skills in learning, socialising and to gain their own independence. Wendy James.
Krista Sampson: Assistant Director / Pre-School & After-School Teacher Hello Everyone, My name is Krista Sampson. I have coordinated Preschool/School age Day Camps, YMCA children’s programs and Babysitter’s Course’s. I graduated in 2005 with my Early Childhood Education. I have substituted for various Day-Care’s, but I think I have found my home here at Wendy’s Neveland Pre-school & After-school programs. I live in Nine Mile River with my Boyfriend Greg, my Mother and my Labrador Abbey. I look forward to meeting the children and parents at Wendy’s Neverland. Krista.
Corina MacDonell / Pre-School Hi everyone, my name is Corina MacDonell and I am a preschool teacher here at Wendy’s Neverland! I live in Enfield with my wonderful husband Jason, his 7 year old son Dillan and our 14 month old daughter Alyssa. Our family loves the outdoors, we love camping, fishing and spending time together! After finishing high school I got a Child and Youth Care diploma through community collage and have been working with young children ever since. I worked as a nanny for 6 years caring for children 12 months-10 years old. I have worked at Wendy’s Neverland for one year from 2009-2010, working in the full day preschool class. I then had my precious baby girl and stayed home with her and have loved every minute of it. I am ready to come back as a preschool teacher part-time with the full day children. I am excited to be working again for Wendy and also with the other teachers here. I absolutely love working with children, and I am looking forward to teaching and guiding those in my class and getting to know their families! Corina
